Coronavirus (COVID-19) Catch-up Premium
Kenton School has a clear plan for ensuring that students are able to close any gaps in their knowledge which grew during periods of partial school closure. Kenton School has remained open to vulnerable students throughout periods of lockdown.
Key elements of our plan include:
- Use of GCSE Pod with Year 10 in summer term of 2019/20 to measure engagement and identify gaps early for future planning
- Baseline Year 11 tests in Autumn
- A whole school map, master, move on approach to establishing gaps and forward planning
- Use of retrieval activities to recall, revisit and reteach
- Curriculum re-planning where appropriate in light of current exam board advice and identified gaps in knowledge
- Kenton Revise launched to equip Year 11 with skills for independent study
- The spending of the allocated Catch up premium with a focus on high quality teaching and learning and targeted intervention including, but not exclusively, making use of the National Tutoring Programme.
