Sixth Form success for Kenton School A Level students

Students, staff, governors and trustees at Kenton School are celebrating the success of sixth form students after the A-level results were released today.

The results demonstrate another year of continued improvement and positive outcomes, which when combined with the wealth of additional enrichment opportunities and support available, further cement Kenton as a ‘Good’ Sixth Form provision.

This year, outcomes in Further Maths, Media, Performing Arts, and Health & Social Care were particularly strong with a number of students gaining top grades. With over 45% of grades achieved between A*-B, many students going on to higher education have met or exceeded their offers allowing them to gain access to the UK’s best universities.

Within these results, there are many outstanding individual performances including:

  • Nuha Amer, gained A*A* A* and is going to Cambridge to study Medicine;
  • Isaac Williams gained A*A*A* A and is going to Durham University to study Physics;
  • Owen Branighan who gained A* A* A B and will study Mathematics at Newcastle University.

We are also delighted to be sending students to institutions nationwide to study a broad range of courses including Spencer Katsidou who has been accepted to Durham University to study History, Matty Hunter who is studying Film and Television at Bristol University, Ben Russell who is going to study Sports Journalism at Lancaster University, Oliver Barnard who is studying Music, Marketing, Media and Communication at Brighton Institute of Modern Music and Jaz Hayles-Ryder who is studying Fine Art and Art History at Manchester.

Assistant Principal, Head of Sixth Form, Andrew Swan said: “The results showcase the strengths, talents and resilience of our outstanding students. They have been rewarded for their hard work over their seven years at Kenton School and have been supported with high quality teaching and learning and encouraged by our dedicated teachers and sixth form team. The number of students who are continuing their academic development at their first-choice university is extremely pleasing as well as those who have secured apprenticeships. We wish every one of our Year 13 leavers the very best of luck in their future.”

Principal, Sinead Green, added: “I am so proud of all the students and the brilliant results they have achieved and would like to extend my congratulations to our Year 13 cohort. Results at A-level, applied general and tech level have all improved, which is testament to the hard work of all staff and students. I wish all of our students the very best of luck with their incredibly exciting next steps.”
