This course is designed for students who are interested in exploring an enterprise idea. During the course students will develop the skills necessary to plan a viable business enterprise.
Ideally students should be interested in business ownership; an ideal student is brimming over with ideas for small business start-ups. They may have an interest or a hobby that they can exploit and turn into a business, or they may have a burning desire to help their community and open a social enterprise.
There are four units of study. Unit 1 is externally assessed, and the final three units take the students through the development of a viable business plan.
The externally assessed unit covers business basics, the internal and external environment and basic financial tools.
Students who excel in this course are ideally suited to running their own business; working in a small business or helping others develop business ideas.
