Why study this course? 

A highly academic subject which will excite your mind, challenge perceptions and stimulate your investigative and analytical skills. Geography allows you to study topics that reflect the world today, the interaction between human and physical components that you will genuinely enjoy, including hazards and population. 

What interests should you have? 

If you have an interest in the geographical working of the world then this is the course for you. You will enjoy learning about the interconnectedness of physical processes, to the human world and how the interaction between the two impacts society and the environment. 

How will you be assessed? 
  • Exam one: 40% (120 marks) 
  • Exam two: 40% (120 marks)
  • NEA: 20% (60 marks) 
What will the course cover? 

This course will cover a range of physical topics, including water and carbon cycles, coasts and tectonic hazards. The human element of the course includes changing places, global systems and governance and people and the environment. You will also complete a NEA (non-exam assessment) based on an aspect of either physical or human geography, which will be a topic of your choice.
